Professional Future 1

Transferring into the final year of the BA Sound Arts course from a very uninspiring music production program marked a pivotal shift in both my academic and artistic development. My previous institution valued output and efficiency over curiosity and critical reflection, leaving little room for intuition or experimentation. In contrast, the Sound Arts course fostered a reconnection with my performative roots, rekindling the drive that initially drew me to sound and performance as expressive forms.

This course has allowed me to realign my creative practice, encouraging an interdisciplinary approach that integrates performance art, dance, sound, and music as interconnected modalities. These are not simply tools or disciplines, but ways of thinking and being. Most recently, I have found myself drawn toward horticulture, not as an escape from art, but as a complementary practice. Its cycles of growth, decay, and care resonate deeply with the embodied and temporal aspects of performance work. I hope to explore this further as part of my post-graduation trajectory.
